What do I need to bring to Boxing?

We will have all of the necessary equipment for you to get started in Boxing. Just wear a sports shirt and shorts and turn up 10 minutes before your session, in order to sign the necessary documents. If you have your own gloves and Boxing shoes, bring them along. Also bring a big bottle of water, you will need it!

Will I be made to spar in Boxing?

Your first batch of sessions, will be tailored in a way to teach you the specific skills and movements, required to be successful. We will spend a lot of time building your fundamentals and getting you proficient in the movements. Only then once you have the fundamentals, will the opportunity to spar arise at The Combat Lab. However you will never be pressured into sparring.

What will my first Boxing session look like?

For your first session you will come into the gym and after signing the necessary documents at the desk, we will get you a pair of Gloves and then the class will start the warm up.

The warm up will be some basic body movements, related to Boxing, and then following the warm up the class will move into techniques. This is where you will pair up with someone and begin learning through our structured syllabus and the guidance of the coach. You will likely hit the bag and use the pads with a partner to learn the techniques.

Then the class will be finished and a member of our team will check on how your session went.
